Conversion and “repair” tools that go beyond timing

Alongside synchronization, Time Adjuster includes utilities that can convert subtitle files into other formats, plus basic operations to join and split subtitle files. There are also maintenance-style options aimed at salvaging problematic text subtitles, including repairing damaged TXT subtitles (such as files corrupted by an incorrect transfer mode) and scanning for timing issues like lines that disappear too early. For quick checks, it can also display basic information about a video and a subtitle file.

Video handling is functional, but narrow

While Time Adjuster can sync subtitles with help from a loaded video, its supported video input is limited to AVI. If your workflow relies on other container formats, that restriction can turn the video-assisted sync into a less useful feature, and it reinforces the app’s feel as a specialized tool rather than an all-purpose subtitle workstation.

Small conveniences, plus a few constraints

Time Adjuster can check online for a newer version and allows changing the program language, which helps when sharing the tool across different setups. On the other hand, it does not support Unicode, which can be a deal-breaker for subtitles that require broader character support.
